Christian Ullrich、Stefanos Domatiotis、Matt Perger、Pang-Yu Liu、Yu-Chuan Jacky、 Stavros Lamprinidis，這些人並不是你在好萊塢電影裏看到的超級明星，但他們在咖啡的世界裏確實很出名。在Livestream、Youtube以及優酷上，這些人的視頻點擊量累計超過數百萬次。他們是各項世界級咖啡賽事的冠軍得主，而這些賽事大多由世界咖啡協會(World Coffee Events, WCE)組織，他們自然成爲了WCE的明星人物。每年來自世界各地、成千上萬的咖啡專業人士以及咖啡愛好者都會聚集在一起，爲全球咖啡產業的超級明星喝彩。這些超級明星來自不同國家，從各項經WCE授權的國家級比賽中脫穎而出。</p>
<p>
非常感謝WCE爲行業內頂尖人才提供一個切磋咖啡技藝、傳遞咖啡理念、交流咖啡經驗的世界級平臺。想要成爲世界冠軍，必須經過評委們的嚴格評判，他們來自世界各地，受過專業培訓，並獲取了行業資質認證。WCE由美國精品咖啡協會(Specialty Coffee Association of America, SCAA)和歐洲精品咖啡協會(Speciality Coffee Association of Europe, SCAE)共同創立，是舉辦各項世界級咖啡賽事的先驅。WCE通過舉辦各項賽事旨在促進全球精品咖啡協會交流，提升業界各項專業水準。WCE是目前最具影響力的世界級咖啡組織，超過50個會員國將其本國冠軍推選至WCE的各項賽事中。</p>

這些賽事通常與各大行業論壇和世界級行業展會同期舉行，由SCAA和SCAE共同主辦。有時，其中一些賽事也會交由舉辦地的國家咖啡行業協會主辦。這些賽事通常持續多天，來自各個國家的選手、評委以及志願者都會參與其中。賽事觀衆將充分體驗到精品咖啡現場展示的精妙之處。那些能夠憑藉個人技藝呈現完美咖啡風味，並能帶來一場令人興奮現場表演的咖啡師，更容易得到賽事獎項的青睞。</p>
<p>
世界咖啡師大賽(World Barista Championship, WBC)，是每年度各個國家和地區咖啡師賽事的最終盛會，吸引着全世界的目光。它注重於促進咖啡品質和咖啡師專業技藝的提升。每一年，來自50多個國家的咖啡師冠軍選手都將在15分鐘的現場展示時間裏，完成4杯意式濃縮咖啡、4杯卡布奇諾以及4杯自創咖啡飲品的製作。經過WCE認證的評委們，將從飲品風味、專業技藝、整潔程度、創新能力、整體表現等方面對參賽選手進行評判。其中，自創咖啡飲品鼓勵咖啡師充分發揮創造力，運用自身豐富的專業知識，打造出能夠體現個人品味和自身經歷的個性化飲品。最終，只有一位選手能夠獲得世界咖啡師冠軍的稱號。</p>

世界拉花大賽(World Latte Art Championship, WLAC)是注重藝術表現的競技平臺，咖啡師需按要求完成大賽規定環節。運用意式濃縮咖啡與牛奶的經典搭配，在表面呈現出咖啡師的創作設計。比賽作品將從飲品口味、圖案穩定度以和圖案創新力等方面進行評判。排名靠前的6位選手將進入最終角逐。在最終輪，選手將製作兩杯自選圖案瑪奇朵(Macchiato)、兩杯自選圖案拿鐵以及兩杯規定圖案拿鐵。評委將針對圖案的視覺效果、創新力、穩定性、複雜程度以及咖啡師的整體表現進行綜合評判。得分最高的選手將摘得世界拉花大賽的桂冠。</p>

世界烘焙大賽(World Coffee Roasting Championship, WCRC)將對參賽者三方面的表現進行評判，包括咖啡生豆評級、設定指定咖啡豆的最優烘焙曲線以及咖啡豆烘焙成品。真正咖啡烘焙高手的過招，在於充分利用其自身的經驗與學識設定並執行一次完美的烘焙。烘焙成品將以盲測的方式，由專業評委進行杯測，並確定最終得分。</p>

世界手衝咖啡大賽(World Brewers Cup，WBrC)是比拼咖啡手衝萃取技藝的賽事，它致力於提升手工咖啡萃取技藝與服務的專業水準。參賽選手可以選擇任意一種手工咖啡萃取工具，例如：滴濾壺、法壓壺、虹吸壺等，向評委展示三種不同的咖啡飲品。萃取過程以及服務過程的流暢程度都將納入評判範圍。這項賽事的精髓就在於讓咖啡師迴歸本源，爲顧客製作一杯高品質的黑咖啡。</p>

最後，還要介紹一項WCE的重要賽事，那就是世界土耳其咖啡大賽(The Cezve/Ibrik Championship)。土耳其咖啡壺(Cezve/Ibrik)是一款爲特定咖啡沖泡方式所製造的咖啡壺，在東歐、中東及北非地區流行甚廣。壺身可由金屬或陶瓷製成，壺沿的設計便於濾出咖啡，而其最大的特色在於擁有長長的手柄。這項賽事不僅展現了土耳其特有的咖啡沖泡方式，還以比賽的形式弘揚着獨特的文化傳統。大賽鼓勵參賽者使用自己製作的咖啡壺，在比賽中呈現這一古老的咖啡沖泡方式。下屆世界土耳其咖啡大賽將於2015年2月6日在希臘首都雅典舉辦。</p>
<p>
2015世界咖啡師大賽將在美國西雅圖與美國精品咖啡協會展覽會(the SCAA Expo)同期舉行。而由SCAE舉辦的世界盃測大賽、世界咖啡烘焙大賽、世界拉花大賽、世界手衝咖啡大賽以及世界土耳其咖啡大賽等，將於2015年6月16日至18日在瑞典的哥德堡舉行。</p>
<p>
除了以上由WCE主辦的各項賽事外，日本精品咖啡協會還基於其傳統的虹吸壺賽事，創辦了世界虹吸壺咖啡師大賽(World Siphonist Championship, WSC)。今年，7位來自不同國家的虹吸壺冠軍咖啡師在WSC上進行最終角逐，來自日本的上野智代小姐榮獲本屆大賽冠軍。根據往屆大賽記錄，並非所有虹吸咖啡師大賽冠軍都來自日本。來自臺灣的李雅婷小姐奪得了2009年舉辦的首屆WSC冠軍。而 2013世界虹吸咖啡師大賽冠軍則是來自香港的梁海恩小姐。</p>
