（中央社網站）臺灣的便利商店超級方便，相當程度承襲了日式經營風格，但在日本人的眼裏，兩地便利商店最大的差別居然是“氣味”。資深媒體人野島剛形容，若是在日本的便利商店聞到這種味道，顧客一定會感到喫驚，但他詢問臺灣的朋友，對方卻認真地說“根本沒什麼氣味呀！”原來，讓野島剛詫異的味道來源是：茶葉蛋。</div>

野島剛曾是“朝日新聞”記者，派駐臺北多年，對臺灣相當熟悉，經常發表臺日文化觀察手記，也出版許多中文專著。他在最新出版的新書“日本人默默在想的事”中，對臺灣的便利商店有獨到的觀察。</div>

便利商店發源於美國，在日本發展成讓生活依存於便利商店的獨特營運模式，便利商店除了購物，還有宅急便、影印、自動提款機、繳費等生活服務，這種營運模式被傳到臺灣，臺灣又進一步發揚光大，再回頭影響日本。</div>

不過，最讓野島剛感到驚訝，也是臺日兩地便利商店能夠最直觀地感受到的不同之處，是走進店裏時聞到的氣味。</div>

“在臺灣的便利商店中，有一種日本便利商店所沒有的產品——茶葉蛋。它就是氣味的來源”。</div>

野島剛寫茶葉蛋的文字很美：“將煮熟的雞蛋的殼壓出裂痕，再用加入了八角和鹽的烏龍茶慢慢煮透。這樣一來，從蛋殼裂縫中滲入的烏龍茶就會在白色的蛋清上留下玄妙的花紋，就像是中國哥窯的陶器一般美麗。”</div>

“八角的香味最能激發人的食慾，其味道既特別又濃烈，一走進臺灣的便利商店就能聞到。要是在日本的便利商店中聞到這種味道，顧客一定會感到喫驚。” 他問過臺灣的朋友：“你們不會在意便利商店裏的氣味嗎？”對方卻認真地回答道：“便利商店裏根本就沒什麼氣味呀。”令他不禁啞然，可能是臺灣朋友從小就習慣了這種味道，感覺它就像空氣一般自然。</div>

野島剛曾經在日本試著自制茶葉蛋，DIY後的心得是：在家裏做茶葉蛋比較麻煩，還是在店裏買既方便又便宜。</div>

至於日本的便利商店也賣肉包、香腸等熱食，爲什麼沒有味道呢？野島剛表示，“日本的便利商店裏都是沒有任何味道與氣味的，這也是其賣點之一”，這些食物必須密封在容器之中，所以氣味不會散發出來。</div>
